Employment Law and Settlement Agreement Solicitors SW1

Piccadilly, St James’s and Mayfair

We are a firm of solicitors with offices located close to Piccadilly and Mayfair – at 32 Bloomsbury Street, WC1 – close to the British Museum.  We have a venue to also meet clients in St James’s SW1.

Employment law consists of a key area of our work.

We have a strong employment law team which includes Employment Specialist Counsel Kevin Harris (called to the Bar in 1999), a very experienced employment law consultant and other fee earners.

Our fees are very competitive.

In appropriate situations, we will consider no win no fee or fixed fee arrangements.

Please telephone us on 0207 112 8841; there will be no charge for the initial call.

We act for both employers and employees.

Employment Law and Settlement Agreement Work SW1

Typical examples of work which we carry out include the following: –

  1. Providing advice to employees who are pregnant or who are due to go back to work following maternity leave, who are experiencing problems with their employers – including proposals to make them redundant.
  2. Representing employees who are absent on long term sickness leave.
  3. Representing employees and defending their interests concerning proposals to make them redundant or to place them upon performance management.
  4. Representing employers in the defence of sexual discrimination and/or unfair dismissal claims by former members of staff.
  5. Representing workers/self-employed staff who are not formally recognised as employees.
  6. For employers-preparation of employment contracts as well as agreements to be signed by the self-employed staff.
  7. Advice concerning non-compete covenants including bringing and defending proceedings for an injunction in the High Court or the County Court.
  8. Settlement Agreements.

Settlement Agreements SW1

Settlement Agreements consists of a key area of our work. We normally sign off a number of them every week. We provide a very detailed service to our clients, including: –

i. Advice as to strict legal rights and value of any claims.
ii. Re-negotiating the termination package with the Employer, if so instructed.
iii. Negotiating the terms of the settlement agreement to make it commercially acceptable to sign – usually such agreements are drafted very one-sided in favour of the employer and contain unfair provisions such as if there is any breach of the agreement however minor then all the monies need to be repaid.
iv. Providing advice as to waiver of non-compete covenants to enable the employee to readily find work in the job market following termination of their engagement.

Please contact us by telephone or email if you have a draft settlement agreement to set up an initial meeting or telephone conference.  We need to see your current employment contract, a recent payslip as well, and also – in word format please – a draft of the settlement agreement.  If this is not available in word format, then we have the software to convert a pdf form into word format and work on that basis.

We are a very approachable firm.  To contact us, please telephone on 0207 112 8841 or alternatively email enquiries@sr-law.co.uk.
