Employment Law and Settlement Agreements consist of a critical area of our work.
Our Employment Law Team consists of Kevin Harris (who is an Employment specialist barrister called to the bar in 1999) as well as other solicitors and fee earners.

We have an Employment Tribunal caseload, and every week we sign off many Settlement Agreements.
Approaching Simons Rodkin
We are a very approachable firm. We do not charge for short initial telephone calls and if you wish we can set up an initial fixed fee meeting. Alternatively, we can arrange an initial telephone conference.
Telephone conferences are becoming somewhat fashionable recently both in terms of time saved and reduced costs.
To contact us, all you need to do is email us with your details to enquiries@sr-law.co.uk.
Our Fees
Our fees are very competitive and reasonable and are set out upon our website.
The current time charge rate for our Employment Law barrister Kevin Harris is £200.00 per hour exclusive. Our junior solicitors and paralegals are at lower rates per hour.
In relation to Employment Law Settlement Agreements, which we are very experienced in, generally, our cost in representing an employee client or a material contribution towards costs are paid by the employer.
If the agreement is signed off with no amendments at all – which we rarely recommend, then the contribution provided by the employer would typically be sufficient. You will not have to pay anything more.
However, draft Settlement Agreements usually are very onerous, and it normally requires considerable effort to amend to make such agreements commercially acceptable for an employee to sign. The amount of employer’s costs is negotiable with the employer as well as the other terms of the agreement.
Approaching us in relation to Settlement Agreements
Please contact us to set up an initial meeting. Please send to us a copy of your Employment Contract, any separate non-competition agreement and a recent payslip.
We will provide you detailed advice during the initial meeting including as to your rights, whether the package offered is reasonably acceptable and the recommended amendments to the terms of the agreement.
We take Employment Settlement Agreements very seriously and provide a detailed level of service. Key points to watch out for in regards to Settlement Agreements are requesting the employer to waive relevant non-compete covenants – to enable the employee to work after the termination of their employment. Further complications arise if the employee is a director – since the question arises of a reverse waiver of claims or fiduciary duty owed by the director to the Company. Shares and share options also give rise to complications.
Employment Law Claims
Please contact us if you are an employer who has been threatened with a claim by an employee or former employee.
Please also contact us if you are an employee who wishes to bring a claim against your former employer or indeed current employer.
We are also regularly appointed as non-panel solicitors by legal expense insurers – with whom we have an excellent commercial relationship with.
Also, we will consider in appropriate cases, fixed fee or No Win No Fee arrangements.
Areas of Employment Law we have particular experience/expertise
